Upon arrival at the Canadian Parliament, President Obama shook hands with Prime Minister Harper and took a couple of seconds to wave to the crowd of a thousand gathered there to welcome him. Barack Obama then got inside the Parliament where he met different dignitaries and signed the guestbook of Canada.
The President stated : “I value our strategic partnership with Canada and look forward to working closely with the Prime Minister to address the global economic recession and create jobs, to protect our environment through promoting clean energy technologies, and achieve our shared goals in responding to international security challenges”.
After his work meeting with Prime Minister Harper, on the way back to the airport, President Obama made a surprise visit to a local market, where he purchased Canadian treats and gifts for his family. His presence there stunned customers.
